LEARN TO SKATE FAQ’S

Skaters should wear warm comfortable clothing, thin socks that go above the ankle, and gloves.  Skaters who have never skated should wear a bike or a hockey helmet.

On the first day please arrive at least 30 minutes early to allow time for proper skate fitting and to check-in at the registration table. Skaters are grouped in lanes according to level.

Skaters will be given a skating punch pass good for six free public skating sessions good for the duration of your class session. We recommend at least one practice a week for Basic levels and 2+ days a week for Free skate levels.

We allow one to make up class per session. You can email the skating director to find out the makeup day/times.

At the end of each session on the last day, skaters are evaluated and sent home with a form that lets parents know if they are ready to advance to the next level.

At the end of each session on the last day, skaters are evaluated and sent home with a form that lets parents know if they are ready to advance to the next level.

You can add a second day of learning to skate so that you are taking two classes per week. The 2nd class is only half price if purchased during the registration of the first class. You can also take booster private lessons at any time. To schedule lessons, email the skating director or you can contact our instructors directly (click here).

We have an annual ice show each December that all skaters may participate in. We also have a spring skating competition that skaters can compete in.
