FREESTYLE:
A Freestyle session is for figure skating and private lessons only (not open to the general public). These sessions are not recommended for anyone below the Basic 5 Level without a coach. Freestyle sessions are for dedicated figure skating practice and instruction. Skaters attending these sessions must be familiar with the traffic patterns and ice etiquette of a figure skating practice session.
Pathway to Figure Skating at Carolina Ice Palace
Whether you’re brand new to skating or dreaming of the spotlight, the figure skating journey begins at Carolina Ice Palace. Our Skating Academy Learn to Skate program is the first step; open to all ages and skill levels. From there, skaters can advance to our Elite Academy Figure Skating to build jumps, spins, and artistry in small group sessions. Private lessons are available anytime for personalized coaching on freestyle ice.
As skaters progress, they can choose their discipline – freestyle, ice dance, pairs, or Theater on Ice – with recreational and competitive options for kids, teens, and adults. Demonstrate your skills in our annual Ice Show, compete in local and regional events, or join our US Figure Skating affiliated club.
