Stacey Mons – CIP Figure Skating Director

Stacey has been the Figure Skating Director at the Ice Palace for 14 years. She began teaching in Charleston in 1998 when the rink first opened. Just coming off a 7-year professional skating tour with Disney on Ice, Holiday on Ice in Europe, Magic on Ice, and Snoopy on Ice, she decided to put the suitcases away and settle down in Charleston. Stacey holds ratings from the Professional Skaters Association in Moves in the Field and Freestyle. In addition, she teaches choreography, power skating, off-ice classes, and hockey skating. Sandy Lenz Jackson

With 30 years of experience coaching skaters, Sandy brings her diverse talents to the Carolina Ice Palace, where she has coached for the last 22 years. Sandy’s accomplishments include: Competing in the 1980 Olympics, Winning the National Figure Skating Championship twice, and Earning the silver medal in the 2015 World Figure Skating Championship. She spent 17 years in national and international professional ice shows as a featured soloist, choreographer, and pair skater with Keith Green. Leslie Chabot

Leslie is a very passionate, dedicated, and committed figure skating instructor. Leslie has been coaching now for 44 years. She loves teaching skaters of all ages and levels both recreational and competitive. She has produced many talented skates from the lowest level through the national competition levels. Libbie Chabot-Lundeen

Libbie is an experienced, fun, and energetic coach. She teaches freestyle, Moves in the Field, and pairs. She has had many students pass through their gold level tests throughout her 39 years of teaching. She has trained skaters to reach their goals of being national competitors. Debbie Rosenbaum

Debbie began skating at the age of 9 at the Broadmoor Figure Skating Club in Colorado Springs, CO, and has been teaching since 1998 as a professional. She holds a BS in Business Management with a minor in Computer Science from Radford University and currently is an Adjunct Professor for the College of Charleston Ice Skating Classes.

She has coached her students through United State Figure Skating Tests as well as Regional Competitions. Debbie’s style of teaching is “make it fun so that long after the lesson is over the student will continue to skate.” Debbie instructs in many styles and disciplines of skating to include: Freestyle (Spins, Jumps, and Edges), Moves in the Field, Power Skating. Additionally, she offers Off-Ice Conditioning. Debbie belongs to the Professional Skater’s Association (PSA) and is a Rated Coach in Freestyle and Moves in the Field. Charlene Durham

Charlene grew up in Ontario, Canada, and started skating at the age of 3. She competed for 12 years in Canada, both in singles and in ice dance; in singles, she competed up to the junior level, and in ice dance, she competed two years at the junior level at Canadian Nationals. Charlene traveled for 2 years with Disney on Ice, traveling throughout North and South America.

Currently, in addition to coaching, Charlene is a pediatric Physical Therapist and has been practicing for 18 years and recently obtained her doctorate degree in 2019. Charlene is also proud to work for US Figure Skating with the S.T.A.R.S. program of athlete testing where she travels primarily throughout the northeast and the southeast United States performing athlete fitness assessments. Tiffaney Kress-Tanner

Tiffaney is a down-to-earth, positive coach who has been teaching for over 25 years. She has been involved in skating as a competitor, professional show skater, creative and technical director, and coach for over 35 years. Andrea Wadell

Corey Mjaatvedt

Corey began skating at age 8 in Ogden, Utah, and spent his Summers training in Sun Valley Idaho. He directed the Weber County learn to skate program while in college and taught in the Ogden/Salt Lake City area for many years. Katie Ross

Katie has been involved in skating as a competitor and coach for 19 years. She began teaching so that she could share her love of skating with others

Christine Newkirk

Christine recently relocated to Charleston, SC from Darien, Connecticut where she coached for over 25 years. She began skating at age 5 and competed primarily in the Northeast for 10 years. Christine coaches skaters in the area of Freestyle, Choreography, Moves, Figures, and Power Skating. In addition, Christine was a public school teacher in Connecticut for 25 years. Sarah Sadowski

Sarah has been coaching for over 10 years. Most of her skating career was in Michigan where she fell in love with the sport through competitive synchronized skating. She recently moved to Charleston and is ready to share her love for the sport through teaching. Sarah enjoys coaching learn to skate, figure skating, and hockey students of all ages. Jennifer Dragotta

Jennifer Dragotta is an elementary school teacher and part-time figure skating coach. After skating as a child, she came back to skating as an adult to compete at the adult level of skating. She coaches Learn to Skate and private beginner lessons. She is currently on maternity leave.

Jennifer Norman (Jenny) began ballet at the age of four with The Toledo Ballet School, she comes from a dancing family and enjoyed featured roles in “The Nutcracker,” and appearing in a local television commercial. Jenny spent her summers in Manhattan training at the prestigious School of American Ballet and The Joffrey Ballet School. She was awarded scholarships to attend Indiana University’s School of Music and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Ballet. Professionally, she danced with Indianapolis Ballet Theater, Los Angeles Classical Ballet, and made her home here with Charleston Ballet Theater. Jenny began teaching ballet at the age of 17 and loves connecting with her students through positive reinforcement. Jenny also is happily married and has three children, her youngest being a figure skater with FSCC. She looks forward to helping the figure skaters be the best they can be! Contact Jenny at
